As part of the "Strengthening Tax Justice in Cameroon" phase 3 project, a workshop was held at the Talotel hotel in Bafoussam to build the capacity of civil society.

The training covered a number of key aspects relating to taxation, tax decentralisation, tax fairness, illicit financial flows, citizen mobilisation and the planning of awareness-raising events.

Participants gained crucial knowledge and skills to promote fair taxation and combat illicit financial flows.

The training also highlighted the importance of collaboration between civil society organisations, local and national tax authorities, and other stakeholders to achieve the goals of tax transparency and sustainable development.

It is now essential that participants put into practice what they have learned and engage in concrete actions to promote fair taxation, combat illicit financial flows, and raise public awareness of these crucial issues. The creation of a collaborative platform and the implementation of a work plan are important steps towards achieving these objectives.

Raising awareness via social networks, community radio and other local media can also play a key role in engaging the population and mobilising citizens.

Ultimately, the training has provided a solid basis for action, and it is now up to the participants to put this knowledge into practice to contribute to the economic and social development of their community and their country.
